Granite Ridge gets mixed reviews depending on who you ask; while some feel the course is challenging and well worth the money, others comment on the lack of care taken in maintaining this 36 hole track.

A visit late last year left the good folks here at OPC feeling much the same way, but in a different respect; The track itself wasn't in bad condition, the fairways were...fair, and the greens were....green. All in all pretty standard fare for a low priced public course.

However, what we did feel was below average was the course layout itself as well as the level of playability. The two 18's were pretty short, and a number of the holes were of the same length; I'm pretty certain we could have played the entire course with a 4 iron, 7 iron and a wedge.

Overall Granite Ridge left us feeling uninspired even though we all posted lower than average scores. To sum up, play the course early in the year to gain some confidence, and leave it to the locals for the remainder of the season.
